VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE (VITA) PROGRAM GEARING UP! Training will be held in January. Those who successfully completed an IRS test of proficiency are certified tax preparers and qualified to assist low-income and elderly with their tax returns. Proper filing can mean significant refunds or credits and greatly ease a tight budget, making the difference between being comfortable and just getting by. VOLUNTEER DRIVERS NEEDED NOW! Love to drive? We need volunteer drivers to assist with our Provide A Ride Program. This program assists low-income, elderly or disabled residents get to critical medical and social service appointments. Mileage reimbursement is available. We are looking for volunteers to complete both in county and out of county trips. Volunteers may turn down any request made of them and may specify their preference for driving time and in or out of county trips.
